The Manufacturing Quality Pack connects the three steps that have always been disconnected.
Before production. Virtually simulate deformation and validate your tolerance strategy on CAD before a single chip is cut.
Instantly, from measurement. Transform deviations into exact CNC corrections automatically — no guesswork, no trial-and-error.
Root causes, not symptoms. Break any deviation into form, size, orientation, and position — in one click, in 3D.
Virtually test geometric deformation scenarios on your CAD model before machining begins. Simulate form, size, orientation, and position defects — and confirm your tolerance strategy holds before producing a single physical part.
Transform measured deviations into CNC corrections — tool offsets, work references, axis corrections. Predictive Mode shows how the next part will measure before you run it.
Automatically break down any deviation into form, size, orientation, and position components — in a single click, in 3D, directly on the part geometry. Based on ISO 20170.
Tolerance check and issue investigation using simulated data — before production starts.
Deformation SimulatorCreate CMM inspection programs offline without stopping production. Classic Silma workflow.
Machine CorrectorShop floor inspection connected to the machine — correction applied directly after measurement.
Machine Corrector Decomposition AnalyzerTool correction generated as a service from received inspection data — no local license needed on the floor.
Machine Corrector Decomposition AnalyzerDeep investigation of machining issues using real inspection data — identify the source, not just the symptom.

The Manufacturing Quality Pack is a bundle of three built-in capabilities — Deformation Simulator, Machining Corrector, and Decomposition Analyzer — that extend Metrolog to cover the full quality loop: anticipate machining issues before production, correct CNC offsets from inspection data, and break down any deviation into its root cause. All three modules run inside the same Metrolog environment your team already uses.
They address three distinct moments in the manufacturing process. Deformation Simulator is used before production — it validates your tolerance strategy on the CAD model before any part is machined. Machining Corrector is used during production — it reads inspection results and outputs the exact CNC corrections to apply. Decomposition Analyzer is used after measurement — it breaks down the deviation into form, size, orientation, and position components so you know what caused the non-conformance. Each capability works standalone; they work better together.
Yes. The Manufacturing Quality Pack runs inside Metrolog, which is machine-agnostic by design. It is compatible with CMMs from Hexagon, Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Renishaw, DEA, LK, and many others — regardless of brand, controller generation, or sensor type (tactile, optical, REVO 5-axis). If your CMM already runs Metrolog, the modules activate without any hardware change.
The Manufacturing Quality Pack supports all major CAD environments: CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE, Siemens NX, PTC Creo, and SolidWorks. Inspection plans, datums, GD&T annotations, and part geometry are read directly — no manual re-import, no file translation step between design and inspection.
No. The Manufacturing Quality Pack is designed for teams already using Metrolog as their primary CMM measurement software. If your shop currently runs PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, or Calypso, the right conversation to have first is whether Metrolog is a fit for your environment — contact your account manager to discuss your migration path.
The Manufacturing Quality Pack is a bundle licence — all three capabilities are included and activated together. There is no partial licence.
The suite is primarily used in aerospace, defence, medical devices, and energy — industries where tight GD&T tolerances, first-article requirements, and full traceability are non-negotiable. It is optimised for complex machined parts (prismatic and freeform surfaces) inspected on CMMs. Automotive is supported but not a primary target sector.
ISO 20170 is the international standard for the mathematical decomposition of geometric surface deviations. It defines how a measured deviation is separated into four independent components: form (GF), size (GS), orientation (GO), and position (GL). Decomposition Analyzer implements this standard directly on your Metrolog inspection results — so your root-cause analysis is reproducible, auditable, and aligned with the same framework your customer’s quality teams use.
3DCS Variation Analyst addresses the design phase: it simulates assembly variation statistically to validate that your tolerance stack-up is achievable at scale before tooling is cut. The Manufacturing Quality Pack addresses the production phase: it works on real inspection data from your CMM, on parts already in production. The two tools operate at different stages of the digital thread and are complementary, not competing.
The Manufacturing Quality Pack is a bundle licence add-on to your existing Metrolog installation. There is no reinstallation, no hardware change, and no migration of your existing inspection plans. Contact your account manager — activation is typically handled within your current maintenance agreement. If you are unsure which modules you already have access to, your licence file lists all active modules.
