Founded in 2018 by a group of 3D metrology experts, Opus Solutions Techniques designs and manufactures Quality Control fixtures used in QC laboratories and directly on production lines, for SMEs and larger industrial groups. Before choosing its 3D inspection software, the company needed the highest level of functionality, a complete solution covering the full 3D metrology spectrum regardless of brand or measuring device, and an interface simple enough for new team members to learn quickly.
Opus Solutions Techniques’ CMM was already running on OEM software. The company needed a solution that could be installed without retrofitting the CMM’s electronics, and a commercial offer consistent with the budget constraints of a newly created business.
Metrolog covers the full 3D metrology spectrum, independent of measuring device or brand: 6-point surface alignment, geometric alignment, best-fit computation combining geometric and surface elements, CAD mirroring, and profile tolerance calculations across different alignments. Deployed directly on the existing CMM, it cut Opus Solutions Techniques’ inspection cycle times in half.
Silma’s offline programming capabilities, including program construction via axis/CAD intersection and program mirroring, made surface measurement programming 4 times faster for Opus Solutions Techniques’ team, without stopping production.
